Girl Developers' Summit

Saturday, February 23, 2013 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Location: Eastern Michigan University's Student Center
Description: Let’s Make an Impact
How do we teach our children to be kind? To be a good friend? To be empowered, have a voice, and stand up for themselves and others? To be healthy in mind, body and spirit? These are the important questions we will address in the 8th Girl Developers’ Summit brought to you by Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.

What is the Girl Developers’ Summit?
It’s a community-wide conversation for parents, mentors and youth development professionals to help girls be safe, healthy and successful, now and as they mature. Participants will learn new tools, identify partners for collaboration and engage with colleagues who are working to improve the lives of girls.

Girls Welcome
Girl activities will be offered during the Girl Developers’ Summit at the Eastern Michigan Student Center. No need to make other arrangements! She can learn and have a lot of fun while you gain valuable information at the Summit.

Tentative schedule for the girls: In the morning, the Junior League of Ann Arbor will visit the girls and offer their Kids in the Kitchen program to address the importance of eating healthy foods and involving them in the fight against childhood obesity.
During the afternoon, programs will include: healthy activities, a presentation by the Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative, outdoor activities and much more!
