Snowball Sale extended until December 20

Holiday shopping at any of six stores at Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Regional Centers will snowball into savings until December 20.
In addition to saving money, shoppers will be supporting girls already involved in the many programs and services offered by GSHOM as well as girls who would like to be a part of the Girl Scouting movement. However, there also is the potential to make that support go even further if the gift items purchased are being given to organizations such as Toys for Tots or the Salvation Army Angel Trees.
Sue Smith, Retail Sales Specialist for GSHOM, said the annual Snowball Sale is a win-win all the way around.
“Customers choose a snowball and receive a certain percentage off of their total purchase,” Smith said. “Many people don’t realize that our stores carry a wide variety of nuts and candy, Girl Scout apparel and accessories, books and toys.
“The sale is our way of thanking our current customers and introducing other people in the communities we serve to what we have available.”
Smith said the nut and candy items make ideal gifts for clients, customers or employees. But, she said, they also are great stocking stuffers to satisfy the salty and sweet cravings.
The selection of other items in the stores located in Ann Arbor, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Saginaw and Turkeyville are handpicked by Smith and her staff to meet the interest levels of various age groups.
“We have a lot of fun selecting what we’ll carry,” Smith said. “We are always on the lookout for new and innovative products which will educate and entertain. One of the things we stress is that the girls have fun while they’re learning.”
