Celebrate Girl Scout Sunday and Sabbath
Posted by Shayne Wheeler on 02/25/2014
As leaders with Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan you have a very special opportunity to participate in a gathering with your faith community to observe Girl Scout Sunday or Girl Scout Sabbath which are part of our celebration of Girl Scout Week, March 9-15, 2014.
This year Girl Scout Sunday is on March 9 and Girl Scout Sabbath is on March 15. We encourage you to speak with your faith leader to talk about the level of involvement you could have such as ushering, presenting information about GSHOM, taking the offering, or recognizing girls and alumnae with GSHOM who are in the congregation.
We have designated these two Sundays to celebrate our partnerships with faith communities to share our commitment to the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. We encourage our girls to develop connections to their own spiritual and religious beliefs by earning recognitions provided by their faith communities and by earning the new My Promise, My Faith pin, which helps deepen the connection between the Girl Scout Law and her faith.
Girl Scout Sunday and Girl Scout Sabbath provide wonderful opportunities to share your dedication to Girl Scouts with members of your faith community.
