Junior Puberty Workshop: Session A

Sunday, November 13, 2016 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor Regional Center
Description: For Junior Girl Scouts

In this hands-on, 4-hour workshop for girls and their moms you’ll learn about the physical, emotional, social, and cultural changes that occur during puberty. Through role-plays, games, a video and ice-breaker activities, moms and daughters will open up the channels of communication. A licensed social worker and heath care professional will discuss why it’s great to be a girl and help you discover the relationship between one's self-image and behavior. Much of the time will be spent together, but girls and adults will also participate in activities separately.

Outcome(s): D1, D3, C1

Registration Deadline: Oct 19, 2016
Late Registration (add $5): Oct 20 to Oct 26, 2016

GSHOM’s goal is to offer quality programs to as many girls as possible. At least two adults must accompany every troop/group to an event. In order to serve as many girls as possible, and make sure there is plenty of space to provide the program, troops are asked to keep their adult to girl ratio to:

Daisy: 1 adult to every 5 girls
Brownie: 1 adult to every 6 girls
Junior: 1 adult to every 8 girls
Cadette: 1 adult to every 10 girls
Senior/Ambassador: 1 adult to every 12 girls

Troops/groups that register more adults than listed in the ratio listed above may be asked to limit the number of adults to the ratio listed above.
