City of Ann Arbor - Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)

Ann Arbor's updated single-stream municipal recycling plant is open for tours. The MRF Education Center is a large second floor classroom with a wall of windows overlooking the plant floor. Visitors are oriented to the world of recycling, don hard hats to tour the working plant, and return to the classroom for interactive activities. Girl scouts may attend the monthly free open houses, held second Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to Noon, September to June. Each month features a different fun activity in addition to the plant tour, such as making paper, building a bird feeder with recycled items, stamp crafts, etc. The open house topics are listed on the website. Groups of 15 or more (including siblings and drivers) may schedule their own MRF tour during weekdays between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Age Level: Family, All ages Address: 4150 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48108 Handicap Accessible?
