Girl Scouts' reason for being is not fire-building, but character building! Our informal education program centers around the interests and abilities of girls and is the vehicle that enables girls to stretch their wings and become self-reliant, courageous, compassionate, concerned, committed and mature women who will positively impact society. In other words, it is about what happens inside the girl during an activity, it is not always about the activity itself.

Don't forget that girls may attend an activity individually or with their Girl Scout troop or group.
