Day Camp

Traditional day camp programs are offered for girls entering grades kindergarten through eight, for both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts and leadership opportunities for girls entering grades 7-12. Day camps are held on GSHOM camping sites, in your local regional centers or local community sites and are facilitated by both staff and volunteers. GSHOM day camps are often more affordable than day care.

Troop Camping

Girl Scout troop camping is available year-round to registered troops. Troops may rent a lodge, platform tent(s), cabin(s) or primitive sites (pitch your own tent) at any one of ten properties located in various regions.

Troop Core/Adventure Camps

These camps are an introductioin to group camping for the inexperienced Girl Scout leader or a refreshing break for the experienced one. Trained outdoor program staff provide leadership for arts, nature, camping and other activities. Troop Core/Adventure camps are held throughout the year in various regions.

Resident Camp

GSHOM offers resident camping programs for girls entering grades one through 12, for both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts at various sites in Michigan. Girls will develop their social, emotional and physical abilities while staying at camp for two, five or ten nights during the months of June, July and August. All GSHOM camps are accredited by the American Camp Association.

Camporees/Encampments

Camporees/Encampments provide an overnight or weekend opportunity at camp, with other girls throughout the GSHOM region or Girl Scout area. It is the perfect time for Girl Scouts to get to know each other, sharing songs, games and skills throughout the year.

Camp Oak Hills Update

This year, there are no council-sponsored summer programs at Camp Oak Hills. All resident camps originally scheduled for Camp Oak Hills have been moved to other programs if possible.
