Girl Scouts of the USA Online Orientation Instructions
GSUSA On-line Orientation
We invite new volunteers to visit the GSUSA on-line orientation to access information about the basics of Girl Scouts - the history and mission of the movement; the Girl Scout Promise and Law; program keys and processes; GSUSA resources and support.
Go to http://training.girlscouts.org/ This will take you to the interactive website. You will be asked to log in and to complete a learning log. The password is discover (descubrir for the Spanish version). When you complete the learning log, please e-mail your learning log to orientation@gshom.org. Here are some tips to help you through this process:
Email Address: please type in the Email Address field orientation@gshom.org; separated by a semi-colon, then type YOUR email address.
Council: pull down the drop down menu, and select Heart of Michigan (it is above Hawaii).
Once you begin your online learning, you will be prompted to open the "Learning Log." Click on the Learning Log button at the bottom of the screen, and a new (second) screen will also open. You will keep both windows open. Depending on what browser you are using, the windows will appear either as two tabs at the top of the browser, or as two minimized windows at the bottom of your computer screen.
Continue to fill out questions - and you will be directed back to the orientation. You will again be prompted to fill out more information on your "Learning Log" - Do not click the "button" again. Simply continue to use the same Learning Log" throughout the entire orientation by either clicking on the second tab at the top of the browser, or by clicking on the minimized window at the bottom of your computer screen.
If you are unable to access this site or have questions, let your area manager or membership specialist know so this orientation can be shared with you in another format; or contact the adult recruitment and education specialist at your regional center.
