Product Sale ProgramsGirl Holding Cookie

Council-sponsored product saleprograms are sales of authorized products, such as magazines/nuts, cookies, etc., in which all girls in grades K-12 can participate. Girl's participation is optional. Adults provide supervision and guidance for all age levels. Allproceeds from the product sale programs stay within Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.

Through product sale programs, girls learn how exciting and powerful goals can be. They can use proceeds from product programs to bring their service ideas to life. Whether caring for the environment, promoting literacy or campaigning for social issues, product programs help girls:

Discover more about their values and the world.
Connect with others when selling authorized products.
Take action to make the world a better place with projects funded by product sale proceeds.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a fun and exciting time for girls. The Cookie Program benefits girls in two important ways:

The Cookie Program isthenation's premier business and financial literacyprogram for youth - your daughter will learn to set goals, make decisions, present ideas, work as a team member, and manage money. She will learn about charitable giving by supporting a cause she values. And she will be empowered to help decide how to spend the troop's portion of proceeds to meet troop goals.

Participation in the Cookie Program helps underwrite council-wide programsavailable to girls throughout the year. Cookie Program proceeds make possible more than 500 programs from outdoor camping to mall overnights, from arts and culture to math and science experiments. Cookie Program revenue benefits all the girls in the council by providing essential services to our members: program resources, financial assistance, leader education, publications, the GSHOM web site and conservation of our beautiful camp properties.

The vision of the Girl Scout Cookie Program is to:

  • Ensure the program is an important life-learning experience for girls.
  • Enhance the perception of the program as a way to support Girl Scouting.
  • Promote the sale as a premier revenue source supporting girl leadership development and as a source of pride for the Girl Scout Movement.
