Bet you didn’t know that a box can be used for more than holding things. This is just one of the everyday items that you will be looking at in a new light as we celebrate Kid Inventor Day. You’ll play brain warm-up games and be challenged to figure out different ways to make music, carry your lunch, or water plants. You’ll also be able to design and make a tool that solves a problem and present your new invention to the group. By the time you’re done, you will have unleashed your inner inventor!

Adult chaperones will be required at this event but will not be participating.

Related career paths: industrial designer, inventor, computer modeling, product design engineer

Outcomes: D3, D5, C2, T2

GSHOM’s goal is to offer quality programs to as many girls as possible. At least two adults must accompany every troop/group to an event. In order to serve as many girls as possible, and make sure there is plenty of space to provide the program, troops are asked to keep their adult to girl ratio to the ratio specified in Volunteer Essentials for Events/Programs. Please click here for the link to Safety Activity Checkpoints and refer to page 5.

Troops/groups that register more adults than listed in the ratio listed above may be asked to limit the number of adults to the correct ratio.
