Investigate the vastness of space exploring our Solar System and beyond! Discover how scientists create models to represent the distances between objects in space, learn about orbits, and find out why seasons change in Michigan. Discover the night sky and learn about constellations and planets that can be seen.

Note: Participants will receive the Space Science Explorer Badge. Adult chaperones will be required

This program will spark interest in the following career paths: astronaut, astronomy, aeronautic  engineer

Outcomes: D4, D5, T5

GSHOM’s goal is to offer quality programs to as many girls as possible. At least two adults must accompany every troop/group to an event. In order to serve as many girls as possible, and make sure there is plenty of space to provide the program, troops are asked to keep their adult-to-girl ratio to the ratio specified in Volunteer Essentials for Events/Programs. Please click here for the link to Safety Activity Checkpoints and refer to page 5.

Troops/groups that register more adults than listed in the ratio listed above may be asked to limit the number of adults to the correct ratio.
