Are you a night owl? Take to the trail after dark to see how your senses change in the dark and check out the night sky. We'll prepare for our hike with a Leave No Trace craft, then search for nocturnal animals in their native habitat. Learn to build a safe campfire and enjoy s'mores by the firelight!
Note: Girl Scouts will earn and receive either the Brownie
Hiker Badge, Junior Eco-Camper Badge, or Cadette Night Owl
Badge. Adult chaperones will be required.
This program will spark interest in the following career
paths: travel blogger, park ranger

GSHOM's goal is to offer quality programs to as many girls as possible. At least two adults must accompany every troop/group to an event. In order to serve as many girls as possible, and make sure there is plenty of space to provide the program, troops are asked to keep their adult-to-girl ratio to the ratio specified in Volunteer Essentials for Events/Programs. Cancellations require two weeks' notice to be eligible for a refund.
Troops/groups that register more adults than listed in the ratio listed above may be asked to limit the number of adults to the correct ratio.
