Put your engineering skills to the test with Barr Engineering! Discover the basics of structural design, then team up with your Girl Scout sisters to design and build your very own marshmallow structure.
But building it is only the beginning! Which team's structure will reach the greatest heights? Which will hold the most weight? And most importantly, which will survive the powerful winds of the all-mighty office fan? Put your creativity, engineering knowledge, and teamwork to the test and see if your structure can rise to the challenge!
This program may spark interest in the following career paths: Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Worker, Architect!
Your Girl Scout Registration Includes:
* Two hours of hands-on programming led by Barr Engineering staff
* An introduction to the basics of structural design|
* A hands-on marshmallow structure challenge where you'll put your engineering and teamwork skills to the test
* A fun patch to remember your experience!
Please let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions when registering.
Costs:
$15.00 per girl member
$20.00 per girl nonmember
$5.00 per adult
PLEASE note that this is NOT a drop-off event and proper Girl Scout to Adult safety ratios MUST be met in order to participate in the event. At least two adults are REQUIRED to accompany every troop/group to an event.
