Can I join as an independent Girl Scout?
Yes! Earn badges, go camping, and more on your own schedule.
You can absolutely join Girl Scouts by yourself. This type of membership is known as an Individually Registered Member (IRM). Individually registered members are also known as Juliettes, named after our founder, Juliette Gordon Low. Juliettes choose how to participate based on their schedule and interests.
Joining as a Juliette is great for Girl Scouts without a troop available nearby or who want to enjoy Girl Scout programming with their family. They can get started right away by earning badges independently or attending events to meet other Girl Scouts in their area.

As a Juliette, you can participate individually in everything open to Girl Scouts in your grade level. At Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, you can attend program events, overnight & day camp, travel opportunities, the Mackinac Island Service Program, and more!

Join our monthly meetings!
Juliettes participate in all that Girl Scouts has to offer independently on terms that fit your busy life. During the monthly meetings, you will meet with other Juliettes throughout Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. Learn about council-sponsored events, earning badges, and how to participate in the Girl Scout product programs.
