Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Receives $40,000 Grant from Midland Area Community Foundation
Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan is delighted to announce the receipt of a generous $40,000 grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation. This funding will be distributed over two years to support Girl Scouting in Midland County, focusing on the initiative: “Developing Our Talent.”
The Midland Area Community Foundation exists to cultivate the power of giving within our community, support long-term transformation, and help ensure all residents thrive. The grant aligns with the Foundation’s focus, which aims to empower local youth through skill-building and leadership development programs. Through partnerships and grants like this, the Foundation helps organizations address critical community needs and enhance the quality of life for all residents.
This funding will enable Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan to enhance its programs, providing more opportunities for girls in Midland County to develop essential life skills, explore new interests, and build confidence. The “Developing Our Talent” initiative will focus on offering diverse activities and resources that foster personal growth and leadership among Girl Scouts.
“With the support of the Midland Community Foundation, Girl Scouts in Midland County create the world they want to live in and make it better while discovering who they are, connecting to others, and taking action in their communities. Supported by adult volunteers and mentors in communities across Midland County, girls have a safe place where they can be themselves, regardless of background or ability,” said Lyah VanSickle, Chief Development Officer for Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.
