Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Receives Grant from Midland Area Community Foundation to Support Girls in Midland County.
Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan (GSHOM) has received a generous grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation Youth Action Council to strengthen the community by fostering collaboration and giving today and in the future. This funding will help remove financial and logistical barriers that prevent girls from participating in Girl Scouting, ensuring every girl (regardless of income or circumstance) can discover her strengths, explore new interests, and build skills that last a lifetime. The Midland County Youth Action Council, a component of Midland Area Community Foundation, is a group of 6th through 12th graders from Midland County wh o come together to assess and meet the needs of young people in Midland County. Girls in Midland County will benefit from hands - on, girl -led programs across four core pillars:
• Leadership & Life Skills
• STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)
• Outdoors
• Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship
