Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan is looking for a few members to join our Gold Award Committee who wish to help Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts succeed in earning their Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting.
The committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month and reviews project proposals & final reports. They ensure that projects meet GSUSA guidelines, review each project’s size, scope, and cost, make recommendations for project development, guarantee that the project is appropriate to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, and ensure a consistent Gold Award process for girl members in our council. This will require approximately 3-5 hours per a week.
Committee members also mentor girls working on projects by guiding and supporting their endeavors. Committee members are encouraged to participate in the annual Highest Awards ceremony in the spring and serve as award trainers.
