Girl Scouts is open to girls from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and each level builds upon the last. Here are some exciting opportunities for girls as they grow!
Media Girls
Media Girls is made up of Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts who help and create content about the incredible things that Girl Scouts do in our council. The girls work with our Marketing and Communications team and other industry experts to learn about different media types and how to create fun and exciting content!
Mackinac Island Scout Service Program
Mackinac Island Scout Service Program The Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan "Mackinac Island Honor Guard" program offers older Girl Scouts a unique summer experience on Mackinac Island, where they engage in leadership, service, and historic preservation duties, such as raising flags and guiding visitors at Fort Mackinac.

Camp Leadership Programs
Start your path to becoming a leader at camp, at school, and beyond! Take a look at our Leadership Programs for 8th - 12th graders.
- The Leader in Training (LIT) program is perfect for older girl campers who are ready to transition from camper to leader.
- The Counselor in Training (CIT) program provides a hands-on experience that puts you on the path to becoming a Camp Counselor.
- Junior Counselors (JC) are volunteers who have the option of assisting in a unit with campers and at program areas such as the equestrian or aquatic areas.
