Do you dare face your fears? In Spooky Science: Fear Factor, you will explore how your five senses affect the way we experience fear and uncertainty. Through a series of creepy, surprising, and science-based challenges, you will discover how the brain interprets sensory information and why unfamiliar experiences can sometimes feel scary, and you will learn the science behind your reactions and gain confidence! Can you trust your senses enough to conquer your fears? Join us for a spooky adventure that combines science, bravery, and a little bit of gross-out fun! Participants are encouraged to wear a costume!
This program will spark interest in the following career paths: Entomologist, Psychologist, Neurologist
Outcomes: D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, C2, T4, T5

Included in Girl Registration Cost:
* 2 hours of hands-on programming with GSHOM Staff
* Lessons on the science of fear
* Confidence-building challenges designed to help you overcome fear at your comfort level
* Challenges based on the five senses designed around "challenge by choice"
* A fun patch
Costs:
$20.00 per girl
$5.00 per adult
PLEASE note that this is NOT a drop-off event and proper Girl Scout to Adult safety ratios MUST be met in order to participate in the event. At least two adults are REQUIRED to accompany every troop/group to an event.
