Eileen Skau, the mother of two daughters, was an active Girl Scout Leader at Haisley School in Ann Arbor. Following her premature death in 1998, the Skau family established this endowment with Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan ensuring Eileen’s dedication to Girl Scouting would be carried into the future.
Gerry Skau was the driving force behind his wife’s Memorial Scholarship. Gerry was an avid Girl Scout supporter and loving husband. Because of his dedication and long-term commitment to this fund, dozens of girls through the years have benefitted.
Gerry passed away in 2016, and per his and his family’s wishes, the fund will now be named as the Gerry and Eileen Skau Memorial Scholarship Fund. Both Gerry and Eileen’s dedication to Girl Scouting will live on for decades to come.
